“That’s why I told you to borrow money. If you just pay the money, I’ll let you go, right?”
From one day, their faces started to overlap with his own.
“Eunjae, all you have to do is pay the money?”
Thinking that he had to do this for another 30 years, he felt like he wanted to die, just as Yoon Sunwoo had told him.
“Don’t do something that will cause you harm. I’ll live like this and go to hell when I die!”
“It’s natural to go to hell after you die. I’ll send you soon, so look forward to it. I’ll beg you to kill me soon.”
“Give it a try. I’m looking forward to it, Sunwoo.”
X, did I expect to be sold to the salt field?
When he first heard that from Sunwoo, he thought he would quit after a few years without much concern.
Recently, he even tried to escape. He went near the chaotic underground room and almost died when he ran into Sunseok. His eyes were full of life. I never imagined that I would see such a look in his eyes. He returned to the salt field to survive every time he ran into him and his men in different places while trying to escape.
To live, how ironic. My head starts to spin. It seems like I’ve succumbed to the heat, so I lay down on the salt field.

A bitter laugh escaped.
Sunwoo, who had been watching from afar, sat next to Chihwang, who had a sly smile and had been sticking out his tongue.
“Thank you for your help.”
“It was tough even without anyone to work, so I’m more grateful for the introduction.”
Sending the author to prison didn’t satisfy Seong. He pondered a lot about how to show him the hell we had been through. Then, the story of the salt field that Chihwang mentioned when he came for a check-up a while ago came to mind, and Chihwang readily accepted Sunwoo’s proposal.
“Eat freely at the minimum wage. The money he earns from working will be donated to the long-term donation center.”
“I can’t eat freely. Don’t you know that you shouldn’t work more than 52 hours a week according to labor standards?”
“If I knew this would happen, I should have lent you more money. It’s not enough for 30 years.”
Don’t worry about that; I’ll adjust it well. Sunwoo burst into laughter at Chihwang’s secretly whispered words.
“It will feel like 100 years in 30 years. Nasty guy.”

Let’s go in and have a drink. Seeing Chihwang stand up and leave, Sunwoo scratched his head, and Chihwang frowned.
“What’s with the tongue?”
“I got married. Just take a look.”
“Tsk, you braggart.”
“I’ll come with you next time.”
I won’t forget this favor. Chihwang responded with a laugh to Sunwoo’s polite bow.
With Sunwoo’s active support, Eunjae succeeded in returning to work just a few months after giving birth.
Sunwoo’s suggestion that it would be better for Seonjae to see his mom, who had realized her dream, played a decisive role in Eunjae’s return to work.
After several days of warm weather, it started raining heavily from the morning.
After work, Eunjae, waiting for Sunwoo, remembered the sweet voice that whispered in her ear this morning.

“It’s raining, how about kimchi pancakes and knife-cut noodles?”
“That sounds great.”
“I’ll pick you up in front of the studio.”
A considerate man who remembers even the little things, my husband. It felt like diving into the sea of happiness every day. Around that time, when Eunjae was smiling, lost in thought of how nice it would be to die immersed in such a sea, Sunwoo’s familiar car stopped in front of her. At the same time, the rear window slowly rolled down.
“Eunjae!”
“Mom?”
Steaming hot knife-cut noodles with abundant squid and kimchi pancakes were placed between Eunjae and Miran.
It was a place they had come without directing the destination. While I expected to come here to some extent, I never thought my date companion would be my mom.
“I told you before that I wanted to come here with Mom.”
“I guess it would have been nice to eat with Yoon Seobang.”
“So true. Why bother bringing me all the way here if you’re so busy?”
Adapted to Manhwa
“But Mom, it’s nice. It’s been a long time since I sat facing our daughter and had a meal like this.”
It feels like a dream, being here like this with Mom.
“I love it too.”
Smiling at Eunjae’s response, Miran ladled some knife-cut noodles onto her plate and blew on them.
“I’ll eat on my own. Mom thinks I’m still a baby.”
Pouring kimchi pancakes over Eunjae’s grumbling, Miran laughed and said, “In Mom’s eyes, you’re still a baby, whether you’re thirty or forty.”
Sunwoo openly parked the car nearby and took a bite of a convenience store triangle kimbap he had bought. Of course, it would have been better if I had eaten with him, but that was something we could do anytime.
With pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, it seems the absence of my mother-in-law weighed on him. He must have naturally thought of Miran, who raised me alone through Seonjae. I did the same.
Although she has become much healthier, she still visited Seonjae about twice a week because it is a stage that requires caution. Even though she considered it a burden, Eunjae seemed to like it. Every time they parted, longing was evident in her eyes.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
