“Ms. Ji Na Lee.”
As the time to clock out was nearing, Do Jin called for Ji Na.

Ji Na, after checking the proposal entrusted to her by Do Jin, approached him with the documents.

“This is the proposal you mentioned last time.”
It was fairly complete, given her utmost efforts to finish it as quickly as possible. Do Jin looked at Ji Na over his glasses with a sharp gaze.

“Ah.”
His low voice contained a hint of surprise.

“Um, okay.”
It seemed that the proposal was not the reason he called Ji Na. However, Do Jin received the proposal without revealing his intentions.

“I thought I failed to give it earlier……”
“Huh?”
Do Jin lifted one corner of his mouth. His relaxed face always made Ji Na feel uneasy. Ji Na, hands clasped together, bit the inside of her cheek to hide her nervousness.

What he took out from the desk drawer was nothing other than a wedding invitation.

“I really wanted to give this to you.”
The smile on Do Jin’s face, while he was grinning, seemed malicious. As if he wanted her to congratulate him on his wedding. Seeing his unabashed attitude, Ji Na barely swallowed an expletive that almost slipped out.

“Yes.”
His intentions were blatantly obvious. Childish and petty.

Ji Na responded with a grin towards Do Jin.

“Congratulations on your wedding, Mr. Section Chief.”
“Thank you.”
The feeling of receiving a wedding invitation from an exboyfriend wasn’t pleasant. As Ji Na was about to turn and leave as quickly as possible, Do Jin, as if he had something else to say, called her back.

“You know the intern’s scores are evaluated by the department head, me, and their supervisor, Ms. Ji Na Lee, right?”
Again, Do Jin mentioned Seo Jin Woo.

“I’m aware.”
Ji Na responded nonchalantly.

“My mother is hospitalized…. She says she won’t attend the wedding. She’s just getting angry when I talk to her about it.”
Eventually, Do Jin left it up to her to persuade his mother till the end. With nothing left to say, Ji Na looked at Do Jin with a stunned face. She didn’t want to show her emotions, but she felt like she had reached her limit.

Do Jin, interpreting her silence as an affirmative response, grinned at Ji Na once more.

“If you want intern Seo Jin Woo to stay as a regular employee, his supervisor should work hard.”
The tone, although threatening, was surprisingly gentle. Ji Na bowed her head politely.

“I will do my best.”
Barely managing to respond with her mouth firmly shut, Ji Na quickly returned to her desk.

Do Jin’s provocation wasn’t even laughable. Ji Na threw the crumpled wedding invitation on the desk.

“Hah.”
She was more certain than ever. Do Jin had neither loved her nor did he ever love her. He had merely used her.

[The office was insane earlier.] A text message came from Ji Hye as soon as she sat down.

[Heard that Heo Yun Joo and an accounting team employee were caught fighting. Really regret not seeing it.] What?

No wonder Heo’s seat was empty. Seeing the neatly organized desk, it seemed she took a halfday off.

Looking down at the crumpled wedding invitation, Ji Na wore a bitter expression. She was planning to leave as soon as the work was over, to clock out before anyone else.

Do Jin, who harshly handed over the proposal Ji Na had made, clicked his tongue.

“Revise it. By tomorrow morning.”
Having been abruptly told to revise, Ji Na had to return to her desk without saying a word. Although the work time had passed, Ji Na couldn’t muster up the courage to leave and stayed seated.

“Are you working late today?”
Ji Hye, about to leave, approached and asked, furrowing her eyebrows.

“I have some work to finish. You should go ahead.”
Her head was throbbing and she felt feverish. Regardless, Ji Na hid her discomfort and gave Jin Woo a faint smile. Jin Woo looked at Ji Na for a moment, then nodded his head.

“Alright. I’ll leave first then. Take care.”
Jin Woo, who looked like he had something to say, softly spoke and then left the office. With his departure, the office was completely empty.

“I’m tired of being alone in the office.”
When she dated Do Jin, she never refused to work late for him. She thought it was right for the man she loved. Foolishly.

‘That was love….’
The thought of being used by him made her stomach churn.
