“What on earth is happening?”
Hyun Kyung rushed into the bride’s dressing room with a puzzled look. Amidst the confusion, the bride, Yul Li, was sitting quietly, clutching her bouquet.
Wrapped in a pure white wedding dress, the bride was more beautiful than anyone in the world, but her tightly closed lips seemed to tremble slightly.
“The groom didn’t come!”
At Hyun Kyung’s exclamation, Yul Li stood up, gripping the hem of her wedding dress. Rising from her seat, she silently looked down at the bouquet in her hand. Her expression showed no change.
After a moment of silence, Yul Li suddenly raised her hand and threw the bouquet hard towards the trash can. The bouquet traced a large parabola, scattering white petals.
“Hyun Kyung, take care of the aftermath.”
Yul Li, who had even removed her silver tiara and veil, walked out of the bridal waiting room.
“Hey? Where are you going?”
Hyun Kyung called out in desperation, but Yul Li didn’t care. She could only think of getting out of this place as soon as possible. If she didn’t, she felt like she would explode. As her steps quickened, her grip on the hem of her wedding dress tightened.
Even after leaving the wedding hall, Yul Li did not stop walking. She needed a cool breeze to cool her overloaded mind. Among the passersby brushing by her side, some glanced at her in her wedding dress, but most didn’t care and went their own way.
How long had she been walking? As she stopped and looked up at the sky, a painfully blue color filled her vision.
Yul Li’s eyes, cold as if indifferent, flickered chillingly.

Months ago.
[What? You’re meeting the wedding planner alone?] Hyun Kyung’s rambunctious voice flowed out of the Bluetooth earphones. Yul Li boarded the just arrived elevator without answering. [What about Min Woo?] It seemed that Hyun Kyung was more excited than Yul Li, the person concerned. Today, Yul Li was supposed to meet the wedding planner with her fiancé, Kwon Min Woo. But early in the morning, a call came from Min Woo.I’m really sorry… I suddenly got a business trip to Jeju Island.
There was nothing she could say to Min Woo, who seemed about to die from remorse. Because it was workrelated.
“He said he’s busy.”
[No matter how busy he is, this is a wedding!]
“It’s okay. What’s so special about a wedding.”
Yul Li mumbled with an indifferent face and looked beyond the glass wall of the sightseeing elevator.
Bright sunlight poured onto Yul Li’s smooth skin, creating deep shadows along her distinct features. Her moist eyes and elegant facial lines made the viewer involuntarily sigh in admiration.
Her unique aura, which was too inadequate to be described as beautiful, captivated the attention of others. However, the happiness and excitement of the bridetobe were not felt.
It couldn’t be helped. The upcoming wedding felt as distant and unfamiliar as someone else’s.
As the elevator rose with a ‘woong’ sound, the bustling inside of the shopping mall began to come into view. Arcadia Mall, boasting the largest scale in the country, was a complex shopping mall where shopping malls, department stores, hotels, and theaters were combined. It was a place where Min Woo put a lot of effort.
From site selection to completion, there was no place his hand did not touch, and as soon as it opened, visitors flocked in, and within a year, it was selected as one of the three largest complex shopping malls in the metropolitan area.

With this success, it was rumored that the chairman of KG Group, Kwon Geon Chul, would pass on the management rights to his grandson Kwon Min Woo, not to his second son, Executive Director Kwon Woo Sik. Perhaps that’s why Min Woo was crazy about work, and as a result, most of the wedding preparations fell to Yul Li.
[Aren’t you angry?] Hyun Kyung could not understand Yul Li, who always came out calm. As expected, Yul Li’s indifferent answer followed.“Yeah, I’m not angry.”
It was not a lie. Yul Li was not angry at all. What was there to be angry about? It’s not a relationship formed by love… If she could escape from her tiresome family, she could even do this kind of political marriage dozens of times.
She had wanted to be independent for a long time, but could not due to her father’s strong opposition. Representative Chae Hyung Sik, who had been elected to the National Assembly four times, loved his eldest daughter, Yul Li, so much that he said she would stick around until she got married and set up a family.
Of course, it was a blatant lie. The reason for keeping Yul Li by his side was for Representative Chae to hide his own shame while portraying a harmonious family image to gain even one more vote.
There had been just one time when I had recklessly left home. However, unable to last even a week, I was drawn back home. I attempted several more times, but each time ended in failure, leading me to realize that the only way out of the house was through marriage.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
