“How’s your body? Is our baby okay?”
Seoha nodded her head, and Minjun clung to Seoha anxiously. Hyeonyoung was worried about Taegyeong too, but she was also concerned about Seoha and Minjun.
Even though there was a fire, she worried that they might have inhaled smoke and suffered significant injuries.
When Minjun saw Hyeonyoung, perhaps because she was a familiar person, he asked without hesitation.
“Grandma, what about our dad? Is Dad in a lot of pain?”
A flicker of concern crossed Hyeonyoung’s eyes. She quickly composed her expression and hid her own feelings, but Seoha could tell.
Being the same mother, loving Taegyeong in the same way, they shared the same feelings.
“It will be okay. Dad is a very strong person. You don’t have to worry. Is our baby okay?”
Minjun nodded in response to Hyeonyoung’s question.
“I was so surprised. Taegyeong, what was he thinking, chasing after that guy alone? What if something went wrong with you guys?”
“If I had been more careful, it wouldn’t have happened.”

“No, it’s because that guy acted recklessly. While explaining, he mentioned that the scissors pierced his subclavian artery, causing severe bleeding.”
“Ah…”
A sigh escaped from Seoha’s mouth. I forced myself to swallow my tears, afraid that if I cried more, Minjun would be startled and scared.
“Don’t worry. That stubborn guy will survive. Nothing serious will happen. More importantly, both you and the baby should get a thorough examination. What if there are problems in the lungs or other places?”
“Yes.”
Seoha was hesitant to refuse, but she accepted Hyeonyoung’s suggestion obediently because she was worried about Minjun. Hyeonyoung nodded.
“Secretary Kwon, I need to meet the hospital director. Please make arrangements…”
Before Hyeonyoung could finish her sentence, doctors rushed into the emergency room. An elderly doctor with a bare head quickly came and bowed to Hyeonyoung.
“I didn’t expect you to come this far, Chairman. If you had informed us in advance…”
“Hospital director, please take good care of our daughter-in-law and grandson.”

The male hospital director was surprised, and the other doctors around also murmured for a moment.
“The police investigation will proceed after a thorough examination of the hospital. Please examine them carefully after their bodies stabilize. I’ve already mentioned it.”
“Our hospital’s top medical team will take care of them with sincerity.”
The hospital director wiped the sweat on his forehead with a handkerchief. He was so tense that even in midwinter, sweat was pouring down. As soon as the hospital director spoke, other doctors and nurses moved quickly and energetically.
When Seoha and Minjun came out in patient gowns, nurses followed them, taking care of them. Hyeonyoung had Minjun and Seoha undergo all the tests at the hospital while Taegyeong was in surgery.
The tests couldn’t be completed in a day.
Minjun fell asleep during the examination. It had been a day when a small body experienced too much. Seoha had to forcibly swallow her tears, afraid that if she cried more, Minjun, who clung to her, would be startled.
“Seoha, can I go in?”
Hyeonyoung’s voice was heard, and Seoha quickly stood up.
“Yes, please come in.”

“The baby? He’s asleep. How about you?”
“I’m fine. What about Oppa?”
“Yeah, the surgery went well. It was difficult to stop the bleeding and get blood, but he survived.”
“Ah…”
Seoha’s tears welled up again. Just hearing that Taegyeong was in danger made tears automatically flow. Her throat tightened, and she lowered her head.
It’s all my fault. If only I had stopped Hyungjin and Seungae properly. At least, if I could have contacted them when they were kidnapped, Taegyeong might not have rushed in recklessly.
“It’s all my fault.”
“No, why blame yourself? I’m sorry. I should have prevented Choi Hyungjin and Jeon Seungae from acting earlier. I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s not your fault. I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. Because of me, because of that woman.”
Hyeonyoung felt pain in her heart due to Seoha’s self-blame. Seoha, who wasn’t even the parent that Seoha chose to meet, why should Seoha and Minjun bear this pain? Can they even be called parents?
These were the things I feared, but I should have prepared more thoroughly and prevented them from approaching.
Adapted to Manhwa
A sense of guilt overwhelmed me, knowing that I couldn’t protect them despite being aware of the danger. It angered me that I couldn’t protect my precious children, even though I had money.
“I will make sure those two never approach you again. I’ll make sure those two dangerous people don’t come out into society.”
“Mother…”
This incident will be the turning point, and Choi Hyungjin and Jeon Seungae will never be able to approach them again.
I was determined to use all my connections in the legal field to expose all their crimes and make them pay.
The reason I earned money as if I were crazy was not for myself but to protect my children, Taeju and Taegyeong.
Hyeonyoung understood this thoroughly. And now, she would protect Seoha and Minjun, who had become her family.
She comforted Seoha. A delicate child. Yet, she was a strong mother, protecting her child Minjun until the end.
It was fortunate that such a child became my son’s partner.
Hyeonyoung spoke gently to Seoha, “And I informed my son-in-law in advance. I’ve decided to pick him up tomorrow. You’ve been worried a lot, so if you make a call, you’ll feel relieved.”

“Ah…”
Only then did Seoha remember Myunghoon. He must have been very worried. Come to think of it, she lost her phone and couldn’t even contact him. She was thankful to Hyeonyoung, who took such meticulous care.
“Thank you. Can I see Oppa?”
“He hasn’t woken up yet. They said they would contact as soon as he wakes up.”
Seoha covered her face with both hands. He was so badly hurt. If he still hadn’t woken up, how dangerous could it be?
She felt that all of this was her fault.
“Still, seeing his face once would be comforting, right?”
“Yes. I want to see him.”
Seoha sniffled with tears. Hyeonyoung smiled kindly and called a nurse, asking her to take care of Minjun. When the two of them came down to the intensive care unit, it was noisy.
Seoha and Hyeonyoung’s faces stiffened at the sound of the medical staff’s voices.

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
