Commit a crime in Blahnath if you must.
It was a saying that highlighted the Blahnath family, the most humane of the ten families with judicial authority in Parsad, even in their treatment of criminals.
The frail woman behind the bars might not think so, though.
Better treatment than elsewhere, a criminal was still a criminal.
The sight of a woman, sitting on a hard bed with tangled hair hanging down and not moving, would be hard for anyone to feel normal.
The warden bowed at a right angle, standing in a straight posture beside the Duke at the bars.
“After an investigation around the vicinity, aside from working as a nurse in a small hospital near Lindcoem forest…… I regret to say that we have no additional information, as she has not opened her mouth yet.”
From the perspective of the warden, well past middle age, Cassard’s being a young Duke was indeed stressful, but the direct visit of the Duke brought much more mental pressure than when he had supervised at the royal correction facility.
It was Duke Blahnath, not the royal family, who held his leash.
This must have been the most nervewracking moment in the warden’s life. Especially after hearing about the Conwell territory, wasn’t the Duke said to be more heartless and perfectionist than his predecessor?

“Have you tortured her?”
“She wouldn’t open her mouth, so a little….”
The warden looked a bit tense but spoke the truth without any falsehood.
The only suspect had not confessed to the crime and various kinds of torture had been applied. For the past three days, she had not slept at all.
Perhaps the news of the Duke’s visit to Lindcoem had hastened his hand…
Cassard clicked his tongue low. It felt somehow lifeless and vacant.
“Bring her out.”
“Yes, Your Grace.”
As the two jailers guarding the cell door went in to bring the woman out, the one who had been sitting dead still resisted violently.
“Don’t touch me! Don’t lay a hand on my body!”

Cassard watched quietly. Especially when he saw her strongly refusing the jailer’s hand that had grabbed her right arm…
“Did you lay hands on the prisoner?”
“Ne, never! Only grabbed her arm! Prisoners here never listen, right? So… that level of physical contact is done by everyone….”
A young female prisoner, a jailer vehemently denying with gaunt cheeks and a bandage on his ear. The picture was clear.
Cassard sighed lightly and stepped into the cell.
Not only the warden but also the jailers inside the cell and even the woman seemed surprised as he entered. In the silence where no one dared to utter a word, Cassard spoke.
“Name.”
Standing before him and looking up, the woman stared at him without flinching. Her golden eyes seemed to shine even in the dim prison light.
“……Scáthach.”
Her voice was like a piano melody.

That’s why he belatedly realized he had seen that face before. His heart plunged as if falling into an abyss.
The little girl from Lindcoem forest, whom he had searched for, stood before him as a grown woman. Though not in good shape.
A prisoner in Lindcoem’s underground dungeon, possibly involved in his father’s government, possibly his father’s killer.
Between the tangled ashcolored hair, her white and smooth skin was visible.
Her rebellious pumpkincolored eyes stared at him hard, and ludicrously, her long ashbrown eyelashes flickered above them.
Cassard, who had been staring at the woman’s face as if enchanted, spoke when she stepped back.
“Tell me. Did this man touch you?”
Though she continued to stare suspiciously like a cornered small animal, the woman slowly nodded her head. It wouldn’t have mattered if she had denied it.
Cassard drew the revolver he had holstered at his waist and pointed it directly at the jailer, still looking at the woman.
“Cover your ears.”
The woman closed her eyes tightly with a frightened face and covered her ears. The jailer could no longer continue his pathetic excuses, and he wet his pants in terror.

Bang!
A bullet grazed the jailer’s ear, who had bandages on, and hit the wall. The jailer, who had already fainted, wouldn’t have seen it.
“Anyone who touches the prisoner from now on will be executed on the spot.”
There was no need to threaten.
Everyone was frozen just by the Duke’s dry voice and his emotionless red eyes.
A single gunshot echoing in the windowless underground dungeon had instilled fear in all the prisoners who had been incarcerated in Lindkom’s mansion’s dungeon.
After that, not only the prisoners but all the jailers and even the jailer’s boss became thoroughly intimidated, or so it was said.
[Star Icon][Star Icon][Star Icon]The woman, having been pushed out of the bathroom connected to the bedroom by the servants, caught his eye.
There should be dresses left by Erieli in the mansion, but it seemed that dressing the criminal in the noble lady’s clothing was deemed inappropriate. Judging by the oversized nightgown she was wearing that didn’t fit her at all.

Cassard had thought it would be better to seduce the young woman before verifying her face.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
