The bigger problem was being caught up with the rotten main character and being chased to the outskirts.

Lying in bed and closing my eyes to reflect on this situation time and again, my head ached more than when the memories returned. I wanted to deny it wasn’t reality, but,

Eventually, it flowed with the love line between Violet and Serdis.

The memory of leaving harsh comments was vivid, and I couldn’t deny it.

“Are you awake?”

I woke up from deep contemplation at the sound of a man’s voice that seemed to chirp like a bird.

“Anette. How’s your body?”

“Gasp!”

My body instinctively jumped up.

It was because the man I had pledged to avoid by agonizing all night was right in front of me.

Plus, my breath opened up as if I’d entered a forest full of phytoncides……. Ah, this isn’t it.

“Pr, Prince, why are you in my room?”

“Were you surprised? You fell in the café yesterday and we hurriedly came to the count’s house, but I was worried.”

His voice was awkward to hear for the first time. Now he’s not my savior but a rotten main character who will send me to hell.

“Do you just walk into other people’s rooms?”

“I couldn’t sleep because I was so worried. I’m sorry if I surprised you.”

Serdis handed me a cup of tea as I sat up in bed.

“Here. It’s warm water. Drink.”

I avoided his gaze and asked.

“But why didn’t you go home?”

His face was tinged with bewilderment at my blunt words.

“Because the count asked me to stay overnight because he was worried.”

“My father?”

“Yes. It was the count who told me to go into the room.”

Useless dad!

My father probably welcomed him with open arms. Because the ‘virgin daughter’ brought a man home.

I touched my forehead that was still slightly throbbing.

“Now that I’ve seen your face, please go.”

“Do you still hurt? Just lean on me for a while, Anette.”

My head’s about to explode because of you. You hunk of iron.

Serdis gently placed a cushion at the head of the bed and slowly had me lean against it.

“Thank you, but please leave. I need to sleep some more.”

“Got it. But before you sleep, have some soup and medicine.”

Knowing the original story and seeing him, his eyes were those of a man deeply in love. I wondered if he was really smitten or if I could vaguely see hearts in his eyes.

‘I’m going crazy.’

How smitten is he with me?

In the original, he was in a dumped situation with Anette, so it didn’t seem like he ordinarily liked her. Seeing his gaze, I was worried if I could shake off the main character just by not showing my face.

“I made the soup myself.”

What?

“I’m not sure if it’ll taste good because it’s my first time making it. You don’t have to eat it if it’s not good.”

He cheekily blushed. If it was yesterday, I would have laughed it off as the behavior of a kind protagonist, but after knowing the original, his actions gave me chills.

Because originally, Serdis wasn’t a kind person. In places unseen by others, he was a wicked guy who indulged in violence. Therefore, that naive look was just a pretense for me to see.

He’s determined to send me to the bottom of the abyss.

He’ll go to Violet and tell her once I smile and thank him for that.

‘Anette was so happy as if she had the world with just one soup I made…… You’re always demanding of me. I’m tired. Violet.’

With exaggerated memories as if he applied a memory buff to himself.

I can’t get tangled up anymore.

Holding my trembling hands, instead of my heart, I spoke decisively.

“Why did you bother making that?”

“Of course, because you’re sick, Anette.”

“But I’m sorry. I usually don’t eat breakfast when I wake up, I start with dessert.”
I stood at the door, addressing Betty who was glancing at us.

“Betty, what’s for breakfast today? Yesterday, I had croissants with lots of cream, so today, I want something different.”

Betty’s eyes widened, making a face that questioned my absurd demand. I winked at her subtly. I figured she would understand my intentions, considering we had grown up together, almost like sisters.

“Pardon?”

Betty, I meant you should play along!

“Shouldn’t you hurry? You know I have to run to the bathroom all day if I eat soup for breakfast, don’t you?”

Casually, I pushed away the plate of soup and sneakily glanced at him. I assumed he would wear the same drained puppylike expression as he did yesterday.

But to my surprise?

‘Is he smiling?’

To the contrary, Serdis was grinning, his face saying this was a good thing.

“Actually, it worked out better this way.”

The audacious smile made beads of sweat break out on my back.
