The next morning, Oh Sejin formally arranged a meeting and came to see the head of Songlim Art Center. Yura was also present at the meeting.

If the situation that had already occurred couldn’t be reversed, then she needed to understand the intentions of the other party. Knowing your enemy and yourself secures your victory, as the saying goes.

While irrelevant conversations were exchanged, Yura frequently checked her wristwatch, hoping the meeting would end soon as she had a scheduled conference in the afternoon.

“I look forward to working with you, Team Leader Jin Yura.”

Yura, who had been barely concentrating on the conversation, stared at the gracefully extended hand of Oh Sejin. However, she didn’t shake it and only offered a formal response.

“I will do my best.”

Sejin awkwardly withdrew his hand, offering some flattering but hollow words.

“I’ve heard great things about your abilities. I look forward to it.”

“Our Jin Team Leader is quite renowned, isn’t she? She’s the pride of Songlim.”

Watching Jin Ho trying to handle the situation with as much wit as Sejin, Yura could hardly stop herself from sighing. It seemed like an attempt to navigate the situation smoothly, but to Yura, it was trivial.

“We have a fine Korean restaurant booked for lunch. Shall we go?”

“Yes, Team Leader Jin, please join us.”

As they stood up to leave for lunch, Yura, following Sejin’s invitation, could only muster a sarcastic smile. It was exasperating that the request she had declined the day before was being made again today.

Was he thick-headed, or just thoughtless? Or perhaps, was it the same thing?

Before Jin Ho could say anything, Yura took the initiative.

“Ah, our Team Leader Jin doesn’t dine with the director.”

“Is that so?”

To his questioning gaze, Yura looked at Jin Ho with a neutral expression and repeated what she had said once before.

“It causes indigestion.”

“Oh, that’s a shame. I’ll look forward to the next time.”

“Sure.”

Thanks to Jin Ho’s intervention, Sejin surprisingly didn’t insist like the day before and promptly agreed to leave. Though he seemed to be acting for her sake, he was responsible for the situation, so it was only expected. Nonetheless, the resentment and annoyance lingered.

Yura skipped lunch to catch up on her backlog of work, as she was called away for an unnecessary meeting. With an upcoming meeting, her eyes busily scanned through documents.

Even amidst this, her phone rang persistently, and seeing the caller ID, Yura continued to ignore it. The person on the other end, clearly getting anxious, sent a short message.

[Should I come to the company?]

At that, Yura reluctantly made a call. The person answered the phone instantly, as if they had been waiting.

“Why?”

[Dash] Why? Are you really saying ‘why’ to your brother?

The agitated voice echoed through the phone. Yura, feeling as if her ears hurt, momentarily took the phone away from her ear and replied shortly.

“Busy.”

That blunt reply elicited a groan from the other end. The person was Yura’s brother, Jin Yugeon. Unlike Yura, he was highly trusted by their father and served as the vice president of Jinwa Group.

Seeing him suddenly getting heated up, Yura was once again amazed. How could her brother, who was like a silver pot, be friends with Lee Hyun, who seemed to be unboiling and consistently cool?

[Dash] Oh Sejin, that guy has entered, hasn’t he?

“You’re well-informed.”

[Dash] What’s going on with him?

“Well, that’s what you should be asking.”

The conversation ended with Yura still mulling over the sudden turn of events and her brother’s unexpected reaction. The thought crossed her mind that if only he were a bit like Lee Hyun, even just halfway, it would be nice.
Yura found herself wondering about Yugun’s information network, which seemed to know things without being told. On the day Yura had an accident due to the shock of Oh Sejin’s abrupt breakup, Yugun and Lee Hyun had rushed to her side.

Thankfully, the accident was only a minor one involving a guardrail due to her inexperienced driving, and Yura had escaped with just a few bruises.

Even then, Yugun seemed to already know about her breakup with Oh Sejin.

This meant there was a possibility that her father was involved in Oh Sejin’s sudden disappearance. And if that was true, it meant their love was never strong enough and that a breakup was inevitable. Thus, she tried to forget and didn’t question her father about it.

[Dash] So, why did Oh Sejin specifically choose Songlim? What was Lee Hyun thinking in bringing him in? Is he out of his mind?

Yura was getting a headache from Yugun’s relentless questioning. She let out a low sigh and called out to him in a calming voice.

“Brother.”

[Dash] Should I meet with that guy?

Unsure whether Yugun intended to listen, he kept talking.

“Who? Oh Sejin? Or the director?”

[Dash] Obviously, Oh Sejin.

At Yugun’s declaration of meeting Oh Sejin, Yura let out a wry laugh. Did he plan to grab him by the collar? The thought was briefly appealing.
